When It All Goes Right

Postby whynotwalk » Tue 05 Oct, 2010 11:45 am

Bushwalking failures, flops and disasters. They're common to us all, and they get plenty of attention here. But sometimes, just occasionally, everything on a bushwalk goes unexpectedly well. That's what my latest blog post looks at.

So ... what are some examples of things going RIGHT for you when you've been bushwalking?

cheers

Ooops - the previous link seemed to only open gobbledegook. Hopefully fixed now - Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the "When It All Goes Right" story, my idea of When It All Goes Right is when I get home safe and well all else in between leaving home and arriving back home is part of the adventure.

Just last weekend......

Planned to do the Kanagra to Katoomba track in 3 days over the long weekend. Got to Dex Creek early on day 1 & we decided to press on to the halfway point at the Coxs River & knock over the trip in 2 days instead of 3. Later that afternoon, the rain started......... & never stopped.......
But since we carried on, we only had one day of trudging through the downpour instead of 2 ! :D

Hi Peter,
When you are blessed with good weather, good company, your food doesn't run out or go off or leak, and you have an unexpected find - like finding something unique or a pristine lake or even finding something that someone else has lost in the middle of no where. There are other things that also come to mind such as finding your car where you left it, even successfully navigating back to your car, or arranging to meet some walking buddies on the track on a multi day walk and actually finding them where they said they would be.
Cheers
Andrew
