Not fighting it, just thought that hammocks were a No No in the OLT. In the absence of platforms, use of a hammock does a lot less damage to sensitive ground than does a tent, if the hammock user is committed to Leave no Trace principles. The only issue with using a hammock on the Overland is that it limits options for emergency shelter if the weather goes totally feral.

Makes me appreciate my cave country where handy over-hangs are a dime a dozen.

I may not be well travelled in bushwalking standards but I'm usually well dry!...
