A lovely walk to a beauty-spot in the Gold Coast Hinterland has been closed to the public by SEQ Water on the grounds of public safety, and the risk of rock-falls. I am contesting this, and it would be helpful to know any statistics on the numbers of bush-walkers killed or injured by rock-falls.

Sorry I can't help with your statistics, how did you go? They have shut down quite a few northern QLD spots for similar reasons, also drowning risk in waterfalls which my generation grew up enjoying.I am all for safety but not so much when liability is masquerading as safety. The "1 human life is more important than anything else' witch bone can wipe out any hobby in existance you point it at.
