Cool Watersheds

As I wrote a reply to another topic, I thought about the significance of the watershed over looking Long Tarns where (along with a zillion other places on the plateau) you can straddle the Mersey and Derwent River catchments.

In my opinion, Mount Massif (haven't been there yet) is the coolest watershed in Tassie as you can find the point which straddles the Mersey, Derwent and Pieman River catchments.

Does anyone else get excited about such things? Can anyone tell of other cool catchment boundaries they've straddled?

Never thought about it much but yeah - cool.

Guess Mt Ossa would be a popular one with the Mersey, Forth and Pieman catchments.

Mt Victoria takes in the South Esk, Ringarooma and George Catchments.

I think the only 'three banger' I've been to though is Mt. Arthur (North Esk, Pipers & Little Forester).

Well, to be honest, I have not thought about it, but now that you mention it, it is very interesting. Looking at maps will take longer forever

The Jordan and Coal catchments near Mud Walls road.

The North Esk -South Esk- St Patricks -Ringarooma at Tombstone Plain near Mt. Saddleback and Ben Nevis.
