When I told her it was a leech she refused to sit down the rest of the day until she crawled into our tent after dark. We had to do regular leech checks to make sure that none had dropped onto our packs or clothing. Needless to say I was really glad to call it a night and finally rest my feet.
Her philosophy...if it can eat you, don't give it a chance.
