crevasse falling vid

Even without speaking the language, the message of this video is crystal clear – it’s not easy to catch your partner’s crevasse fall with a self-arrest.

Amazing to see how many fails there were even if the ice axe was used properly. Very cool avalanche, that was a surprise to all who watched here.

Cool vid. And the guys trying to arrest the fall were warned! Imagine if the reaction time in a real emergency was added.
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,
And at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars.

Most people seem to gloss over the risk of falling in a crevasse, as it's usually fairly avoidable. But with a lot of climbs being attempted as teams of two it doesn't look like you'd have much chance of stopping a fall!

Not just stopping a fall, joining it as well. As a big bloke I pity the poor person tied to me.
