Oh yeah, Les is also good because he doesn't bleep his bloopers. Shows it how it is. I remember an episode that timed him to make a fire - think from bow drill - 11 and a half hours. At least he's not the kind of guy who does it perfectly each time. From a newbie point of view it's good to see these failures rather than a perfect track record. I think the random equipment segment's good for a new person coming in because there's so much stuff out there to buy. I recall him trying a bush saw in Canada and it snapped instantly. Good intro to gadgets I reckon.

There's plenty of people giving info on Youtube. Try Dave Canterbury, a personal favourite. Often US specific and sometimes weird videos about skinning pigs. Good fire and shelter skills though.
