BWA calendar Quotes and tips

Postby wildwalks » Wed 23 Oct, 2013 6:03 pm

Hi All
last few years we have done a calendar using the photocomp images to celebrate the wildplaces in AU. These have been great but expensive. I am working in an idea to try to do a cheaper calendar for next year.
But I am going to need to move very quickly to have them ready for Christmas.

So I am looking for some inspirational quotes or handy walking tips to scatter through the calendar.

Please post any ideas here -- please try using this format
(suggest a month if it matters -- eg a winter or summer quote/tip in square bracket
quote in "quote marks"
then credit in curly brackets

[month] "quote" {credit}
eg
[July] "Batteries work much better when warm - keep a spare camera battery in your pocket" {Matt aka wildwalks}
the quotes can be also famous people etc - don't have to be your own.
If you grab a quote form the net please also share the link

Thanks

Matt :)

I'm always a fan of this one:

Inexpensive • High-Quality • Lightweight: Pick two.

Can’t spend a lot but want light gear? It’s probably not durable.
If you want something durable but lightweight, it’s probably space-age, and therefore expensive.
What about a durable yet inexpensive? It’s probably heavy. And bulky.

And a line I like "Walk your own walk"
I am a GEAR JUNKIE and GRAM COUNTER !!

There, It's out. I said it, Ahh I feel better now :lol:
