Don't mess with a kangaroo (and keep your dogs away!)

From a WA newspaper, a woman and her dog were seriously injured by a Kangaroo while out walking...

Some of those kangaroos get pretty b*&%^y big too, especially the males, they absolutely bulge with muscle. I can imagine that would be a traumatic experience not soon ever forgotten. Its not the first time I've heard of it though, particularly stories about kangaroos escaping to water when chased by dogs and then holding the dogs underwater...

and a blue heeler stirred it up suprise suprise   might be time for doggie obedience school/a leash!

So when I'm walking the dog I need to watch out for kangaroos, ok. I'll add that to the list which already includes keeping an eye out for Antelope when riding my mountain bike:

Not Good

There was a big boomer who lived near the West Cape Howe hut on the Bibbulmun track
The boomer sat on the track not letting people past
With a detour / off track walking required to get past
There's a report of a guy throwing things at which resulted in a wrestling match
Last time I walked the track a big kangaroo skeleton was on the side of the track

Feral pigs are also a problem in the South West of WA that can become aggressive in certain circumstances
Apparently barking like a dog is a good way to scare them off?
