Those are good sized belly scales. Please note that is a size 10.5 shoe.

Where did you find that Michael? (given that we live in the same local area and seem to often visit the same places)
I did have a minor encounter with a fairy large black snake in the Blueys a couple of weeks ago.

I hate to give you the bad news but this is from a local creek. It looks like it is not that old either, so this one is still slithering around.
I had a close encounter with a Brown snake a few weeks back in Dharawal. It was a warm day and thankfully it didn't seem interested in me and slithered off quickly.

Thanks Michael, good to know. I once had a brown snake charge straight at me across Acacia Flat campground, trying to get away from someone who accidentally disturbed it. I performed a spectacular sideways jump that I don't think I could repeat.

had a 6ft black with a raised head last Sunday on Coxes. We went the long way round
