John & Evan gave this a good shot, but the conditions unfortunately beat them. I think they done a great job to get this far. Well done boy's.

It sounds like the cold got them Phil. Tough place to walk at the best of times, do you know what their prep was for such a big snow trek.

Yes, they had a great prep. John visited Alaska not long ago before the trek started and they done a lot of ice baths to help acclimatize to the conditions, Bath Tub fall of ice everyday.

I keep in contact with John via Facebook, I found out a couple hours after they decided to abandon the trek two days ago.

A very high risk John would have lost a finger if he continued due to frostbite. The conditions was a lot tougher than expected.

I just saw photos of John's frost bitten finger, Lucky to have not lost his finger, I believe the doctors got to it just in time.

There was an episode of Australian story on John Cantor. After a few failed attempts he successfully completed the Brooks Ranges during summer. I cant imagine how hard it would be during winter.
