Aussie bushwalking / outdoor blogs and websites

Wed 15 Aug, 2012 12:42 am

G'day folks,

I thought I might try and do a bit of crowdsourcing (using the collective knowledge / wisdom / random crazy insights) from all you good folks.

I've just started updating the links page on my blog, and am discovering plenty of blogs I had no idea about. I've now been inspired to try and add a really decent number of them to help me and others who love the pursuit of armchair bushwalking (when not actually bushwalking) to find plenty of the interesting / inspiring / odd / unique characters who are blogging about adventures in the Aussie bush.

Basically I'm hoping to pull together a list of good sites devoted to bushwalking (along with related outdoor pursuits such as canyoning, caving, kayaking, x-country skiing, climbing, mountaineering (not that we have real mountains in Aus!) etc). Even some of the gear / technical related sites would be good. The more the merrier!

And don't feel shy if all you're doing is plugging your own blog. I'm keen to see them all. Plus the more sites listed the more useful this thread will be for people looking for interesting sites about adventured in the Aussie bush.

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Thanks for those. That's heaps to add to my list. Although neither are exhaustive. I can think of half a dozen blogs by active members of this forum that haven't made them, so I'm sure there are plenty more out there that people know of that haven't been included yet.
