paulw93 wrote:Hi all,
I am hoping someone can help.
I am currently studying outdoor recreation in western Australia, and as part of the degree a group of us are having to plan out own expedition.
We are currently looking at walking around the walls of jerusalem, however in order to get approval to conduct the expedition we are in need of some important information, without it we can not do it.
The main thing that I can not find after hours of google searches, is self evacuation points, in order to save the university money and not have to call a helicopter,
Is there any areas that is a must see for a group of future outdoors leaders.
Thanks again. hopefully someone can help soon, as we want to start booking stuff in the next week.

And for what we will need to be evacuated for, who know it is just we need to know how to get out of the area before we go..
We are currently looking at traveling from lake ada, via lake bill to wild dog creek and out, with a day to explore the central walls - mt jerusalem , the temple.

G'day paulw93,
Lake Bill is a long way from Ada and Wild Dog Creek so your proposed rout is not making any sense, your journey from Ada will take you past Fanny (good camping there)then up the valley to Dixons Kingdom into the central walls down to Wild Dog Creek from there your choice is to head via Solomons Jewels to Trappers Hut and out, or down past Adelaide to Meston and out the Myrtle Lake track via Lake Bill.
Enjoy you trip.

Day 5 Wild dog creek out via trappers hut

It's not that hard to get back up to Fanny from Antimony - follow the track and then Powana Creek once the track veers off - but it's not something I would advise for people unaccustomed to Tasmanian scrub. Not that it's particularly thick there, but it still might be a bit of a shock. From Fanny you either climb up onto the Great Pine Tier and follow it, or stick with the lakeside valley, or cut over the Tier and follow Bernes. Again, not particularly rugged country by Tasmanian standards, but not for those unversed with off-track walking.
Day 4 is ultra-short compared to the rest. It's only an hour from Dixon's to the Wild Dog Camp in decent conditions. OK, you can spend the rest of the day exploring down the creek and up to Tiger & George Howes Lakes, but it still seems a rather unbalanced itinerary.
paulw93 wrote:Yes it very much centered around transport, and time... We only have five days, to conduct our expedition, but understand what you are saying, we could go to lake fanny instead of lake ball. We are handing in the paperwork required tomorrow so we will know if we are able to go or not and can start really working out what we are going to do
