Tarpless, cool clear star filled night. No mozzies.
Morning temp of -1°c...cold for Qld.

Not a great view from the escarpment campsite. Scramble down the incline into the gorge using the wallaby tracks to Cabbagetree Ck, then follow the bankside pig tracks up or down stream.
Echo-ing amphitheatre. 4wd in. Access to the southern boundary of Precipice Np if you can cross the river.

Wish I'd had a kayak/packraft & fishing rod.

You'd have to agree that its a good thing that Canarvon Gorge attracts the numbers it does so as to pretty much designate these other options 'relatively free of people'.

I do seem to be attracted to wilderness areas...without easy access & less people. :D

Thanks Ofuros - I'd never heard of it before. Looks like some interesting country!
How far do you reckon you'd get on a packraft/kayak?

The Dawson River is being held back by the Gyranda weir roughly 20kms downstream...which the waters are lapping 0.34m below.
At the moment, I'd say you could paddle a fair way.

Waters upstream are only 0.02m below the Glebe Weir.
