Mt Townsend - Colo River - Bob Turners Track

The weather forced us to change intended overnight Mountain Lagoon - Colo River circuit. Hence we ended up with this superb day walk.
We left Bob Turners Track car park around 10am towards to Mt Townsend. Our Norwegian friends (http://yr.no/) forecasted almost no rain and sunny afternoon (spot on forecast!).
At the beginning we followed pink ribbons (anyone knows where they go? down to ) but they went strait down so we corrected our steps and followed the ridge. The ridge is quite clean -- little bit of new vegetation after fire and scramble at the end. After almost 2hr we reached Mt Townsend and had lunch.
On the way down to Colo River took the first ridge instead of planned 835304. This one was much steeper and we had to negotiated two or three cliff lines (10 - 15m each) which forced us to follow creek for last half an hour or so. After two hours we reached Colo River!
As we approached the river we saw a blue tent fly stretched between trees. We were so happy to find this shady spot. Somebody left there some food supplies (few cans) and cookware. The water was refreshing and quite warm! Even goanna went for swim
After snack we head up to the carpark and drive back to Sydney.
To sum up, weather was good (not too hot) and river views are beautiful. This walk is only 11km but Mt Townsend descent can be challenging.
