You can walk up to Upper Howqua from 8 mile flat, but the bit I've repeatedly pointed out, is it's a bit tricky from Upper Howqua to the start of Howitt Spur because the river is a bit (or was) a bit hard to cross because of the high-level. Forecast rain won't improve that in the next few days.
Anyway, every time I comment on this site....I make a point (good or bad), it's ignored, I restate it, it's ignored,...wash, rinse, repeat.
Clearly communication isn't my strong point. :)

River crossings in bushwalking are best left until after Xmas. You will get the hang of this concept.

Or, possibly, listening and keeping replies relevant aren't someone else's strong point; unfortunately, I doubt they'll ever get the hang of those concepts.

Anyone been here this week? Been up around Stirling last couple of weeks, and a lot of water in rivers, but was heading up that way next week. Lots more rain though this week so keen to know if the Howqua is ok to cross there before going up over Mt Spec and down to the king to cross there too. GGS Timbertop waded the king about two weeks ago and said just above knees?

Interesting to note the Zeka Spur Walking Track isn't on OSM anymore
