Fees on the Great Ocean Walk

The weather looks particularly good this weekend so I was thinking of an over-nighter on the Great Ocean Walk.

$33 for one night!

I get that this is for a “site” that fits 3 people, but I’ll be by myself.

I assume the rangers will be there to set up my hammock, cook my dinner and serve me hot coffee in bed in the morning?

I agree, it is just plain day light robbery by P.V.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground as a "site" fits 95000 people, but you don't have to buy a ticket for all of them!

The cost has been dropped to $16.80 since 1 July. Much more reasonable.

IMHO it is still only marginally more acceptable. National Parks are for the benefit of all and contribute to a healthy environment . Physical recreation and appreciation of the environment should be encouraged for all and not priced out of the realms of reasonableness.
