You can read a trip report about this 21 kms day hike in the Yarra Ranges N.P . / Lake Mtn. area .
Just click on the web link above. There are many photos .
It is a good long day loop walk
and the Keppel's hut walking
track has recently been cleared by Lake Mountain management
staff using a track clearing machine. It is in excellent condition.

Thanks PCV. A lovely walk by the looks of your limited photos. :D
When are you heading down to do the Overland? If that's still on the agenda.

Hi there my friend. I am leaving VIC. by air to hike the Overland track on May 13th. Everything is booked. The Ferry service to Cynthia Bay is not running on our last day ( May 20th ) so we will walk from Windy
Ridge Hut to Echo Point Hut on the second last day so as to shorten the walk out on May 20th to meet our pre booked transport to Launceston at 1400..
I won't want to look at Cous Cous and dehydrated veggies for a year after that !!!
;-P
The BOM weather forecast for New Pelion Hut ( Tasmanian Alpine areas ) for all of next week is perfect, sunny and dry
which can only mean it will rain and sleet non stop the day we start our hike right up until the day we walk out !!!

There's a good chance you'll get a bit of everything.
We went in November, mid 20s first day, rain next two days, snow around Pelion and Kia Ora the following days and not bad after that to Windy Ridge and Narcissus.
I imagine it will be colder in May, and it was freezing at Kia Ora, that night, so, bring gear.
