Canungra walks?

Postby griffmoore » Mon 21 Feb, 2011 12:24 pm

Hi,
I am new to the site. I was wondering if anyone knows of a very hard 4 - 6 hour hike near Canungra in the Gold Coast hinterland? I have never really hiked or climbed around there and need to kill time on Saturday morning.
Cheers

I'm not sure how near to Canungra you would want it to be, but O'Reilly's is about a 45 minute drive. Taking that into account, you've got about 2-4hrs left for a hike. The Lightning Falls circuit is my absolute favourite. It's a bit longer so you'd be pushing it to finish it, unless you powered along it! You could maybe try going down to Elabana Falls on the Canungra Ck (maybe 3 hrs), or fit in Moran's Falls and the Tree top walk (which is def. worth checking out).
Cheers
