Booloumba Creek

Postby MattS » Fri 28 Aug, 2020 9:43 am

Planning a day trip out to Conondale in the coming weeks and was wondering if anyone had been to Booloumba Creek recently. Was thinking of visiting the day use area there, but was wondering how the creek levels are and whether a Skoda Kodiaq would be able to handle the crossings.

Plan B is Charlie Moreland.

I have visited Booloumba Ck regularly in the past. For more than forty years now. This is currently the dry season and i don't believe there has been any more rain than usual. It would be very surprising if you couldn't get nearly any two wheel drive car over any of the crossings at present.
I would be interested to hear if the fence at the base of the ascent, after the exit to the day use area, has been removed. They, some time ago now, blocked access to the road going on to the Breadknife.
Ever on the search for a one ended stick.
