What are the rules for where you can camp?
So long as someone knows where you're going for safety what dramas can you expect?
Living in SEQ trying to get out for more over night hikes but there doesn't seem to be much other than the great walks?
or can someone point me in the right direction of some sources for researching new places to go?
Ive been through this thread a bit and found some good places to go to but no information whether you can camp or what the tracks are like to plan without back tracking.
thanks

Rules....'Leave no trace' for others to find. http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/experiences ... mal_impact

Dramas off the top of my head...Bushfire, Snakebite, Injury requiring being saved.

Dig deeper, there are lots of resources out there.
First stop for marked walks. National Parks Qld .. http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/experiences ... index.html

Online & book guides....
South East Qld...http://www.takeawalk.com.au/Z1Main.htm
Bushpeople's guide to Bushwalking in South-East Queeensland ... http://www.southee.com/
Secrets of the scenic rim ...http://www.rankin.com.au/books.htm

Just over the border book guides....use your google-fu.
Bushwalking in the MT Warning Region.
50 walks coffs Harbour Gold coast Hinterland

Last but not least...print out your own map extracts & explore. 8)
By the way, I hate back tracking too...If i can make it into a circuit I will.

That'll do for now....hope that helps, Tekkado.
