Mt Castle (Main Range) and surrounding areas

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has done the hike from Sylvester's Lookout to Mt Castle recently and can give us an idea on timings and what the footpad is like at the moment. We're looking at doing a day hike starting at 6.30am at Sylvester's Lookout. We're a group of fit, experienced hikers used to off track/bush bash rough terrain.

No idea about the current state of the footpad but I believe the hole in the wall is now a gap instead, with the roof section fallen away sometime in the last couple of years.

If the hole in the wall point is gone...the hike won't be as nice! When I did it, the razorback area was the highlight of the entire hike. No idea if you could down climb and then climb up again the fallen gap. It was located near the end of the razorback anyway.

Can't remember where I read it unfortunately! It was a great walk - I was actually on the trip there you organised a couple of years ago
