Daintree walks

Does anyone know any good 3-4 day walks in Cape Tribulation / Daintree Area

In 1982 I had the pleasure of walking from Cape Tribualation to Bloomfield but a road was bulldozered through on top of the track a few months later.

Since then I have walked to Pieter Botte and on another occasion to Roaring Meg Falls and wondered if anyone had any info on these walks and how they may have changed.

Also does anyone know about any transport options from Cape Trib to the start of the Cedar Bay walk ? It seems easy enough to get from Cairns to Cape Trib but beyond that is another matter .

Here is a link to a Bus Services which would drop you off at the turnoff to Home-rule at Rossville where you can be picked up by arrangement with the property owners. It's a good place to stay the night before you walk out to the bay.

I also walked the old Cape Trib to Bloomfield Track. Arriving at the secluded Cowie Bay was magic. It's still a beautiful place, but shame about the road. It was built in August '84. Not a bad walk that way is the Woobadda Gorge. Check out photogallery/www.greenaissance. Thornton's Peak another beauty.

Thanks for the suggestions. my research tells me it is also possible to walk up past Mt Sorrow

I have struck north from Mt Sorrow along the range to Mt Halcyon. Also climbed up out of Emmagen Creek to what some call Mt. Jensen, but isn't named on any map. You can pick up a very old blazed foot track from there. I don't know where it ends up but suspect it is the old miners' track from around 1900. From there you are at the head of the Woobadda, south of Mt. Donovan.

+1 for Thornton Peak. There is normally water available in the creek below the western ridge (at about 1000m), so you can spend time near the top without having to carry up all your water.

I have always wanted to visit the Daintree forest, ever since doing a project on it in grade 5. I have been to Princess Charlotte Bay once (when I was working on a prawn trawler - of all the stupid things I have done in my life), and the seclusion was beautiful.
