Advice please. The attached Wilsons Prom Southern Walking tracks info from Parks Vic shows the Tidal river to Oberon Bay track to be temporally closed.
Can any anyone give an update on this please. Have you walked this section recently? Is the Track open or closed? Thankyou

Part of track was washed out in 2021.
You have/had to go via Telegraph Saddle to Telegraph Junction, then onto Oberon bay.
I haven't camped there in over a year, but that was how it was then.
There doesn't appear to be any notes about it in the change of conditions, so the coastal track may be open now.
That's all I know, sorry. I guess you'd have to ring to find out, but they're taking bookings.

Ring Tidal River Ranger's Office (03) 8427 2122.
If they haven't stepped up reparation* works from rain/landslide damage, the track is likely still closed, and thus it would be the "long way 'round", which is a deal killer for most people, but maybe not the earnestly determined.

Elsewhere, the track from Telegraph Saddle to Sealers Cove β€” that area traversing the Sealers Swamp β€” is not expected to reopen in Spring of 2024 (!) β€” an indication of sorts of the magnitude of the engineering required to reconstruct 2km of sturdy track through swampland.

They're going to send the track back to its homeland? :D
Anyway, it's a 2-3 hour walk down from Telegraph Saddle to Oberon Bay, and a bit of slog and somewhat slower the last km on the way back up. It's just not as picturesque I guess.

I meant reparations!
Babysitting neighbour's two boisterous dogs does not help...
