Wallaby Track / Goldfields Track

Probably take it easy and take 4 days.
Train to Ballarat then beg the wife to pick me up in Daylesford. If that doesn't work then bus/train back to Melbourne.
Anyone done this recently and have any tips?
In particular any thoughts on water availability (with suitable treatment of course).
