First post after many years reading. Great community here.

I note the warning about access to sensitive areas and have no wish to transgress.

However from time to time I find places on a map or while driving or walking that google can't enlighten me on...maybe someone here can.

Wabba wilderness - near tallangatta - has anyone walked in there? Anything worth doing?
Jingera rocks -- near Eden (just over in NSW) -- as above. Was near there at Easter. The rocks look good in pics.
Mt Kaye - East gippsland - anyone climbed it?
Mt Murray -- what's the walk like out to Murray? Is the twins track full of 4wd hoons.?

A very long time ago. Don't remember that much about it and, as it was pre-digital, have no photos. It was a very satisfying walk however.

There's a foot track cuts off from the Twins 4WD track and goes over the Twins & Wongungurra, rejoins the 4WD track near the old hut site. This is part of the AAWT - can be a bit vague in places (especially over Wongungurra), but much more interesting walking than the road. There's even a small water tank up there.
For the rest of it, I've done Murray four times (twice from the east, twice from the west) while the gates were open and never seen a vehicle out there. Avoid weekends and especially major holiday periods and the chances are good it'll be the same for you.
Murray itself is good. Very nice views, a different perspective from anything else on the AAWT, an interesting lump in its own right.

I've noticed discussion on this Vic forum is often about the same parks and reserves. Yeah there is a reason why we all go to feathertop, crosscut etc. But some of these other places must have good walking.

Mt Kaye is described by Grant Da Costa in his book Car touring and bushwalking in East Gippsland (1988) as follows:

"Views from Mt Kaye are mainly of the settled Cann Valley and the exploited forests to the west, quite good in their own right but inferior to those from Mt Denmarsh. The long hard slog to the the top and the lack of wilderness views limit the appeal of Mt Kaye as a walk destination -- Mt Denmarsh is far more rewarding."

I'm hoping to get to Mt Denmarsh and to Mt Coopracambra (also described briefly by Da Costa) sometime.

The entirety of the Wabba Wilderness Park was severely burnt in the 2003 fires. That's given it limited appeal for me as a destination thus far.

NNW's recommendations seem much more appealing.
