water at The Farmyard?

Postby Drew » Thu 05 Jul, 2012 10:41 am

Hi there,

A mate and I are heading to Cathedral Ranges this weekend for an overnighter. Just wondering if anyone knows if there's likely to be drinking water at The Farmyard? I haven't been there before, but understand that there's no tank or major streams there. However with all the rain we've been having I thought there might be something flowing in the area.

No big deal if there's not of course, we'll just carry extra.

Cheers

To answer my own question:

Yes, Jawbones Creek (150m or so downhill from The Farmyard) was flowing very nicely. I don't think you'd want to rely on it in anything but fairly wet seasons though.

thanks for that info Drew. I camped at the Farmyard last November and there was certainly no water available then. As you say, it depends on what rain there has been recently.
