ANZAC Day 2024

Postby Hoojar » Mon 08 Apr, 2024 4:44 pm

Anyone walking into the Bushwalkers War Memorial for ANZAC Day might find that they need to make a longer walk via Narrow Neck, as Megalong Valley Road is closed. I've seen some photos of the road washout, and it does not look like a quick fix!

Edit: I did not realised that there was an alterate entrance into the Valley from the West. There you go, you learn something new every day...

This article gives a decent summary of current access arrangements - basically helicopter air drops, and residents only are allowed to walk across the landslide affected area during specific hours. There's no currently viable alternative vehicle route to dunphys.
