Can I confirm you can't access Vera and Hippocrene Falls at the moment from the Leura side, for example, because the part of Roberts Pass between Lindeman and the Vera Falls track is shut?

I was keen to do a walk out there at some point but looks like I'll go elsewhere - the options around WF are fairly limited at the moment.

Yes National Parks has banned people from the access routes to Vera falls from either Leura or Wentworth Falls. About the only way to visit them legally now is to somehow walk up Jamison Creek :x

Sorry to dig up an old post - it appears that Wentworth Pass and access to Vera/Hippocrene Falls has now reopened (but National Pass still remains closed between Valley of the Waters and Slacks Stairs), at least from the perspective that the National Parks website has changed its warning - can anyone confirm that who has been up there recently?

That's right, so you can walk Valley of the Waters down past Lahore Falls if you come in from the Conservation Hut. Was there on the weekend.

I did it last week. The curiosity got me. I used to do it all the time, my fav hike.

I used to think that I was unnecessary that these hikes are closed, especially Vera and Hippocrene loop and Roberts pass. However the national pass should be closed. I know these posts are 6 years old but things have taken a turn for the worse on the national pass. There must be 12 rockfalls, landslips along the section. It's getting to points where it's impassable. It's wet and deadly slippy, overgrown and peppered in rock falls. The ropes are still there from where the poor guys were working on it.

Ah that's a shame.
The last time I did it was 25 years ago, with a mate who now lives overseas.
Always intended to do it with him again when he'd be visiting but it never quite happened, then it was shut anyway.

Thanks for the update Nationalmess. I've been curious to know what it's current state was as the signage for National Pass has still not been removed and is always tempting to do it.

Did you get any photos on your adventure last week?
