G'day
Can anyone help please, with a recommended url for a local map server that can be imported into the Motion X app. I'm after the NSW/ACT 1:25,000 topo maps. I have purchased digital copies as stand-alone on my iPhone but would like to actually incorporate them into Motion X.
The examples given with the app are for the US and cannot be used in Australia. The url given by NSW LPI will not work when I import it into the app.

There is a good guide for Tasmanian maps in this document. It might give you some clues for other states. It even has instructions for Motion X

Adaptation of this URL might work
"http://maps.six.nsw.gov.au/arcgis/rest/services/public/NSW_Base_Map/MapServer/tile/{z}/{y}/{x}"

Fantastic!
Many thanks Tastrax.
I tried your Tas maps url and it works fine. I can only see detail for Tasmania of course but it's proving that Motion X-gps will take in an Australian map server.
I then tried your suggestion for NSW and it works a treat (I substituted [Z]/[Y]/[X] as per the app's requirement). All set now.
I'm using the app for walking in Namadgi National Park - it's proving to be really useful.
cheers

I understand there may be a tile server being developed in QLD as well
"https://geospatial.information.qld.gov.au/ArcGIS/rest/services/QLD/QTopoBaseLite_WebM/MapServer/tile/{z}/{x}/{y}.png"
Unfortunately at this stage it just returns "not yet available" but keep checking
If anyone knows servers in other states I would love to hear from them as I use them for Red Cross work.

Satellite imagery is also available by the looks of things - try something like this
"http://maps.six.nsw.gov.au/arcgis/rest/services/public/NSW_Imagery/MapServer/tile/{z}/{y}/{x}"

I've used motion x on and off over the years. I had know idea that it had this capacity. Awesome.
