There is a hut not far to the east of this peak.
The peak & hut are in a national park - but I was not when taking this photo.

Sorry. I repeated the photo, but this is in SA.
Previous suggestion was Mt Hayward in the Flinders Ranges, but I was north from there.

I don't know why I'm doing this eggs when I'm supposed to start mowing lawns, tidying gardens and so on .
Won't narrow it much further but Is it one of the "Jessops" (SA version of the Abels)?

Eggs you wrote, "highest peak at the back". The photographic evidence makes it difficult to judge which one that is. The one at the left of the ridge, and the one to its right, seem to be about the same altitude.

(Another way of putting this is to say I'm struggling for an answer.)

This makes me suspect that you're looking at something on the other end of the Heysen Range; it could be Falkland from up near Angorichilna, although I don't recall it, or any of the other peaks, being featured before..

I've finished most of my chores now, time for a well deserved break. Mount Warren-Hastings?

Warren Hastings isn't that high; around 560m, I think.

My map has contours to 590 - but other sources suggest 560ish.
A bit ill defined - but Warren-Hastings is correct.

PS - the Oppaminda Nudlamutana walking notes and map show it as 590m.

I'm actually in a creek just north of Strzelecki, but less than 1km away so go ahead and continue the game!

Enjoy the walk and yes, that's right. Little creek near Tenison Woods Knoll. Maybe just above icefest's last photo.

Thanks. Just staying at the pub with mrs, who doesn't walk (and just had a hip replacement).
Planning to get up on the range solo every couple of days, dodgy knee strapped up.
