It is a well known feature not far from the previous photo.

Camped between 2 Abels. 2 others in view.

The one on the right is a popular day walk. The one on the left, not so much. After all, what's left of it looks enormous. But plenty of people go as far as its little sibling, which has a good, signed track.

Looking at Rufus and Hugel, I guess from in between Gell and Cheyne Range?

Yup. We called it Lake Gell. Found the way NOT to go, then found the better way out of there.

Anyone else can jump in.

Hey Graham,
Sounds like you've been out and about on some great walks this season! Been a good one for that.
It looks familiar, like it's on the tip of my brain.
Sat 29 Jan, 2022 12:04 pm
Yes I’ve had some good walks. There are three Abel’s above the fog in this picture. One may be in the tip of your brain but maybe your brain is a bit confused.
Sun 30 Jan, 2022 10:05 am
SOUNDS like one of those mountains could be an anagram of Tortoise’s BRAIN.
Sun 30 Jan, 2022 10:08 am
Hmm. Are you in the W Arfas?
Sun 30 Jan, 2022 11:28 am
No, a long way north of there. My thinking was BRAIN - BRIAN - then the name of the closest mountain substituting different vowels for the I and A.
Sun 30 Jan, 2022 12:16 pm
Oh, and rearranging the letters.
Sun 30 Jan, 2022 2:56 pm
So maybe from Cuvier?
- Hard to distinguish Byron from Olympus
Sun 30 Jan, 2022 4:23 pm
Yes, Eggs. I was on my way up Cuvier. Byron and Olympus are merging together and Othrys is the little peak in the distance.
Sun 30 Jan, 2022 5:56 pm
I realised when I was off doing something else you meant Byron. A bit too cryptic for me!
Sun 30 Jan, 2022 6:04 pm
When you said BRAIN all I could think of was BRIAN and I had to think really hard to remember the name was BYRON but that’s how my brain works.
