Hi Warren. Have to admit I had to Google Euglah Rock, and no, this is a long way from Kaputar. Having read many of your posts though I'm confident that you've trodden the ground in this photo... perhaps more times than most?

Time for a clue. The location this was taken from was literally a stone's throw from a well-known cultural site.

Thanks, my experience around that locale is limited to Mt Bushwalker and Pigeon House.

NSW, should be easy enough:

Yes, just about to enter Palm Jungle. I hadn't walked that bit of the coast track for ages until recently and was surprised to find they've installed a whole lot of raised walkway south of Burning Palms. All yours Tom.

Yes that will do it. Northcote/Albina Pass, Mt Northcote on my left. Mueller rising on the right, Kosci dominating at the back. This is the one of the few views I know where it actually looks vaguely like a mountain peak.

It's funny how hard it can be to recognise a view from a track when you're used to walking it in the other direction, even if you turn around a lot to soak it all in.

I might stay in NSW, but head for the snow. What does this trig mark?

No, not Twynam, although this one also sits at a pretty weird angle.

My initial thought was Twynam also. From memory Gungartan has a bit of a lean but this approach looks different to my recollection.

Given the conditions for most of that day, it was not exactly a straight line route I took up, so that's not surprising, John. Gungartan it is.

Evidently it was the same one I took. Looks like my memory is even less reliable than I thought :

Some years since I took this but easily recognised from the aircraft window as we came in to land the other Saturday.

icefest and John, further North and still further North.

I chose this image because it is tricky and this view creates the visual similarities to the locations that you have both suggested. I used the Sight 'N Go feature on my GPS back then, to lock in the location, to make sure that I have it right ... please try again.
