Well, I see there is a Winifred Falls. Maybe that could be it? Not that I've been following any of the other clues. Nor am I am a fan of said pianist.

Correct peregrinator! I know of the late Winifred Atwell but very little about her, just a convenient clue. I doubt she has any connection to the waterfall. All yours.

This is part of a large formation which will be known by many. (Even by many non-bushwakers.) The angle of my approach was not one used by many.

It looks a lot like Wilpena Pound but that seems way too obvious.

Sandym, making this "way too obvious" was my intention. I'm glad to know you judged this because "it looks a lot like" it. It's the northern end of Wilpena Pound, viewed from the Heysen Trail at the western side of Wilcolo Creek. About halfway between Bunyeroo Gorge and Wilpena.

Next time I'll go for obvious!
NSW and could be equally as obvious as Peregrinator's.
Wed 14 May, 2025 6:58 pm
Not obvious, obvious.
Very near the ACT/NSW border.

Hint number two: Usually walked up from the south. But you can also come from the north.

Obviously it has to be Quito, in Ecuador on the Equator. Latitude: 0° 15' 0" N. On an unusually rare foggy tropical day.

Close Peregrinator. That is, of course, Marc Leclerc on the first winter solo ascent of Cerro Torre.
I am sure dozens of people on this forum have been up this mountain as there is a track all the way to the top. Hint number three in case anyone is counting.

Yes.

I'll go with another summit, NSW:

- On South Rams Head, Kosciuskzo NP via Dead Horse Gap NSW

Not Tate. Similar looking trig but I'm quite a distance from there.

Isn't there a marker like that on the Granite Peaks, or am I getting mixed up? All I can say for sure is that I've been to this one, but that doesn't narrow it down a lot.

I believe you have been here NNW, but it's not the Granite Peaks. You're getting further away.

I believe so.

To keep the ball rolling I'll guess South Ramshead (not Southerly Ramshead), but it doesn't look right - and I can't remember what that trig looks like.

South Rams Head is correct, I walked down here via Southerly. This trig and Tate (see my avatar) are much the same.

Yes, Wineglass Bay. Can't remember what the name of the peak though. Either way, your turn.

That’s Mt Freycinet.
I’m a bit short of easily accessible photos of other states so I’ll try this one in WA.

Yes, that’s it John. Not to be confused with Cable Beach near Broome.

Thanks Graham, I probably should have said near Albany.
