I just walked 500 miles, but I won't walk 500 more

Hey Board,

I dropped off my Overland Track gallery here a while ago, and I've been lurking around ever since. Now I've done El Camino de Santiago and made a similar gallery. I see the Pilgrim Way is mentioned briefly here every now and then, so I thought it's time you guys really look into what it looks like. It's certainly not a rough bushwalk, but it has its moments.

You'll find it all at http://www.pvv.org/~bct/camino/

If you have any questions regarding practical details, I'll be happy to try and answer them.

The short version of my trip report is that I walked 809 kilometres in 23 walking days. Even if you're not worn out, there are good reasons to stop for a day or two in some of the villages and cities the trail passes through. You don't have to carry much food, but water may add some weight if you walk during the hot months. They're really, really hot.

I've put up a GPS track at http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=864144 .

Happy trails!

Wow! I clicked through all the images from your pilgrimage. The scenery and architecture is stunning and your captions are hilarious!

You also seemed to be blessed with great weather during your trip on the Overland Track. I particularly like these two shots http://www.pvv.org/~bct/taz/imagepages/image61.htm and http://www.pvv.org/~bct/taz/imagepages/image61.htm.

Wonderful pictures Bjorn. The Camino de Santiago has not been something at the front of my mind when thinking of overseas walking, but I can see it has a certain charm. Thanks for giving us a good look at it.

Yeah it was a cool find. I liked the echidna too. And I agree about the comments, some are golden!
