Southern Ocean

Does anyone know of, or have a boat that is big enough and capable of heading south into the Souther Ocean?

I'm keen to hear from anyone who might be willing and able to take a small team to the Antarctic region for a climbing expedition.

I think there was a funny looking black boat tied up at the Hobart dock a week or so back. They were about to head down into the Southern Ocean. :)

Thanks for the information..........unfortunately I'm not sure that it helps that much though.

I have a friend who recently did a stint as First Mate on "Pelargic," circumnavigating South Georgia supporting a kayak expedition. They do charter trips to Antarctica, so check out their website here - http://www.pelagic.co.uk/over_overview.asp

They also have a Facebook page that lets you follow current expeditions with many photos. - https://www.facebook.com/YachtPelagic?sk=wall

A trip like this: http://video.patagonia.com/video/Sailin ... enland-The ! http://www.bobshepton.co.uk/

Alpinist 34 has an article by Lionel Daudet on antarctic climbing, but I suppose you're all over that like a rash. They sailed on the Ada II with Isabell Autissier, Agnes Lapeyre and Tristan Guyon. Google away I guess.

Have fun (remember, it doesn't have to be fun, to be fun !), stay safe.
