Hi all,

my Walls plans have fallen somewhat into disarray with all the rains. They've washed out my planned entry route (I was going in via Lake Ada and the road to said lake is currently washed out). I'm considering some options, one of which is going from Lake Meston -> Junction Lake -> Chapter Lake -> Lake Myrtle. This is around 22 km. Does anyone know of good campsites along, or just north, of Cloister Lagoon as this represents good spot distance wise for a camp? I know there is camping at Chapter Lake, but I want to know if there are any good options South.

There is an ok camping spot at the north end, just up the hill from when you first meet the lake, only good for one tent comfortably. I stayed there. There is very nice looking camping at the south end of the lake.

There are a number of potential sites along the way, but the water levels may make some of them impractical. Try to find a spot well above the lakeshores. Chapter to Myrtle? You mean via Jacksons Creek? Both the upper parts of Jacksons and the Myrtle outlet will be awkward.

I suspect that would be very soggy indeed at the moment.

That''s a good route, and I actually prefer it to the Blizzard Plain track, but there will still be at least one very soggy section, and if you're thinking of camping at Myrtle crossing the outlest creek might give you trouble. Last time I was there (last spring), it was running nearly waist high with snowmelt.

I probably should have said that I've seen that bit boggy even without all the rain.
