Heard about this through a mutual friend of the owner, absolutely terrible.
Given Defenders are something of a 'cult' vehicle these days, someone will notice it sooner or later.

The value of Land Rover Defenders has skyrocketed recently. There'll be a huge discrepancy between insurance value and actual value for this unfortunate person. Hopefully the vehicle is found and in good condition.
It's also very sad to hear that thefts have started again at the Frenchman's Cap car park after none for years.

Someone on FB mentioned they got their car broken into few weeks ago too. Scumbags. Parks mentions on their website about this issue. I got a bus from Hobart a couple of weeks ago to and from the trail head. Wasn't risking damage to a hire car. Hope the car is found.

Invest in a trail cam and tie to a tree nearby, might at least catch a number plate or faces

You would think this is a logical thing to do. Especially knowing this is a remote carpark where people leave the car for few days.

It's a good idea. But PWS would have to actually care for that to happen.
Nothing to see here.

I’ve used mine in lots but f places and never had it even looked at when re watching footage. If you’re smart and find the right spot to put it,they can be well hidden.

That's low! Amongst other things

If they can put a camera in a cricket stump then the skies the limit.
Need to get bushwalking listed as a sport and money will flow. Seems to for any other thing they call sport

With an election coming up I reckon we could get a Sports Rorts grant. Marginal electorate and all…

As a born local I hope they got there car back would suck to come back after a big mission and having no car...keeping ears out in Hobart for info ..had to be BOGANS from bush wanting parts etc would be stripped by now....another YouTuber said cars don't get stolen...I said to him wake the ### up your in van diemens land....agree to the cricket wicket cam....I take all valuables with me and now put steering lock on...pull a cord off and put a trail camera up close by that should deterr and catch em if anything happens
Be safe can happen anywhere everyone....
