It was a long time since I walked from Lady Lake to Nells Bluff, but from memory, we just picked our way by sight and it was fairly easy.

As SOB has said - it is an easy walk from the Hut/Lake to the top of the Bluff - just pick your way through fairly open ground, some scree, some rocky ground. You will be looking at the bluff all the way up.

Be sure to pay attention on how to get back to Lady Lake. Navigating TO Nells Bluff is easy - just keep walking to the high point in that direction. But look behind you occasionally, to make sure you take a mental note of where Lady Lake is relative to the landmarks around it. It's not super difficult to navigate back back to the Lake, but it's a bit less obvious than navigating to Nells. Once you can see the Lake, it's easy of course. But you can't always see it.

As long as it's not fogged out, the navigation is straightforward; just the standard dodge-and-weave through the vegetation. The highest point is a bit of a non-event, but the area around the cliffs is interesting.
