Fagus (Nothofagus gunnii) 2023

Fri 14 Apr, 2023 1:20 pm

This week, my first proper bushwalk in a very long time saw the fagus just starting to turn in the foothills of Little Hugel.

(I've heard from others that it is somewhat more advanced around Cradle.)

Anyone got any 2023 fagus photos to share?

There are a few beautiful images in the foregoing threads.
I admit that I have travelled to Waldheim and Dove Lake a lot in years gone by, often seeing the gold phase, but never once have I seen fagus in the blood-red phase! That's what I really want to see.

The last image by Tas-man of a solitary leaf ... that should be printed and framed. That is a gem, just beautiful.
