I predict many sing-a-longs. You'd better stock up on firewood and marshmallows and flannelette shirts. Actually, better make that Wild Turkey instead of marshmallows.

Let's see.... The Gambler, Lucille, Coward of the County, Islands in the Stream, Lady. Must be many more.

Just picked up a few rolls of aldi clear contact.
I find this the best contact to cover maps I print off 6 maps or commercial paper maps as it is the thinnest so is easier to fold and weighs less

The Aldo special buys for Sat just gone are good for the Ultralight bushwalker. You just have to be selective and hope there's some stuff left. Got some compression shorts to try mainly nylon some elastane- perfect. The varied shirts were/are good. 100% poly-some no elastane-win. Like all Aldo-go for what works-the women's stuff always seems better and more in the UL frame.
Some of the trackie dacks were good for active walking if you don't have some good wind pants -UL in weight/feel. I think both men's and women's were all poly-again and no elastane-win.
Heaps of stock left at the shop I went to probably because it was all light (quite UL) weight and Ozzies just love those heavy sport clothes. If you're not sweating your not working I s'pose.

Bit late at 'my' aldi. Last pair of men's shorts in my size. No shirts. And this was Sat ~ noon.

Aldi do have a stock checking web page .. but not good on the day. And I think it lags the truth by a day.
If you want the good gear you have to be early .. at least for the stores around me, there was one that was good .. but it closed due to lack of customers  .

I went for a men’s shirt, as I didn’t like the mesh sleeves on the women’s, and there were only XS left tonight in the women’s anyway.

And I’m right for “fitness socks” for a while. Very happy with the last lot which have done a few years.

Ski sale soon.
22nd of May
The new balaclavas and face masks are advertised as windproof so worth looking at.
Otherwise the stuff looks as per the last few seasons. I won't be shopping as I already have too much gear; although I do like the LW quarter zip fleeces

Today's "special buys" - lightweight synthetic travel blanket for $29.99. 350g on my kitchen scales with the bag (and label).

Wine bottle is for scale only!

Capacity to be smaller in a compression sack but not sure whether it would re-loft very well.

I was away and missed this, a friend has picked up some more of the legendary ski socks for me. I live in fear that they will be discontinued!

The el cheapo fleece gloves are seriously the warmest pair of gloves I own. And I love the ladies' 1/4 zip merino tops but there were no leftovers in either of our local stores, and no shelf tag for them either, which makes me think maybe there weren't any.

Past sale but they are still around. 130 gms for a S.
I'm a M in size and got 2 Ss. Perfect fit.
For those of you that know how good Patagonia Capilene Lightweight (nolongersoldbastardo) were -they are a similar light grid, but slightly heavier fabric.
No cotton or elastane for a change. :D

I bought a women's medium last night, was dubious as to whether it would fit, but it has a lovely amount of stretch and feels really nice on.

Yeah those ones. That's a bit much I reckon. If they were similar weight, I would have picked one up. I might take along some scales to check haha. Still keen to grab a few bits and pieces.

Depends which Helinox model you are comparing it to. Aldi is basically a knock off of the Helinox Chair One which weighs 960 grams according to their web site.
I've owned one of the Aldi chairs for years and love it. Just weighed it on the kitchen scales at 830 grams including the carry bag. I'm a cheapskate so spending $30 vs ~$150 is a no brainer for me.
If you were thinking of the Chair Zero that's a different beast at 510 grams.

The Merino section was crowded in Aldi early today, but the thermal baselayer pile was quiet. 120 lumen LED headlamps $5. Taking up no room in the car, the Aldi chair is definitely useful for car or trail head camps or short transit base camps at 830g.

Short queue at the local Aldi store at open. Spent a lot more than I anticipated - thermals, tshirts, quarter-zip, dry bags, socks, tracky pants, power bank ... crikey.. the thermals and dry bags seemed the biggest bargains to me.
