I last did the olt 12 years ago. Can someone tell me how the platforms are set up for attaching your tent. Are they like those on the western arthurs which have horizontal nails spaced every 4-5 cms in the gaps between slats?
Thanks
Geoff

They were built in a couple of ways, some have nails most have heavy wire tethers. Some are square, others odd shapes. There are no public platforms at waterfall valley and only one at Pelion (so you still need pegs (which you will have anyhow in case you need to stop between huts....)) The best (and safest) way to pitch on the platforms is to take screw type 'cup' hooks (there is a photo here on the site of one). These can be screwed in at the exact place needed (dont worry about the holes, screws open tx pine fibres so the holes close up after ).

Thanks Nuts.
I'd definatly be taking tent pegs anyway. Just wanted to know if I needed cord loops or something else to make it easier. but the screws are a good idea. I'll look that up.
