Hi all,

Heading up to Cradle with friends to hang around the area for 4 days in June. Of course, I was thinking of getting out for a day and doing some walking (well, peakbagging).

Having not actually done Cradle (most of the way up but turned back by ice), that's definately on the cards. Was looking to include Little Horn and Campbell. Anyone have any comments on those 2 peaks? Any estimates on the time required or difficulty? I was thinking 7-8 hours for the loop with minimal resting time.

Any info appreciated.

Little Horn is qutie easy (but has some great views) and doesn't take very long approx 40 rtn from the face track.
Weindorfers Tower I think is a really good climb, and is a great little summit.
If you need directions for these two tracks I can give you them.

It doesn't sound to hard as the tracks in this area are fantastic.

Where is the track up Weindorfers tower?
I know there are a couple of rock climbing routes but they're a bit hairy

Do a search and you will find more info on Weindorfers. In short: you go up the gully to the right of the end tower. At the top of the gully you can go right fairly easily. Going left is harder. It's also quite a drop on the other side. Water or ice will make it harder. There used to be cairns heading up here.

Shame the 'dorf isn't worth any points. Don't understand why either, considering Morriston gets one (pfft). Probably won't have time to head up that with the intent of bagging recognised pts. Thanks all for the info so far! Looks like it shoud be achievable with reasonable weather.

I thought with your off track walking experience a quick look at the map and you should have been all over this one.
Besides you'll have you're new smart phone + GPS so you'll be able to call for help when you go the wrong way.
