Bus transfers from Launceston Airport to Cradle Mt?

Planning to do the overlander track in May and having trouble finding a bus transfer to the start of the overlander track. Has anyone got any suggestions here? Also is it possible to get a pick up from the end of the track?

Early May could be very busy on the Overland Track. Many have the same brilliant ideas,
to my mind late April is worth the few $, fagus at it's best, brianiac's and school groups at their least....

That's what I guessed, that's why we're going late May.

Yes unfortunatly this is the only time i can go. Are the side track likley to be less crowed?

It's hit n' miss moldyform... If your lucky to pick a departure between schoolgroups and 'others' you may be OK, and it is a nice time of the year. I imagine that the side trips will be as un/crowded as the main track. An option if you want to give a crowd the slip is to plan a rest day or two and spend an extra night at appropriate times... A tent will also normally give a better nights sleep than a hut. Leaving either very early or respectably late in the day can give you a 'private run' at some side trips.

I'm hoping for crappy weather on our first day which will hopefully deter a few people.
