I happen to know a few people on the OLT at the moment, indeed I got a call from one of the party about 10 this morning, they were at Pine Forest Moor.
Reckon that should mean they had plenty of time to make it to New Pelion Hut by the time this storm struck, if not at least they had a good bit of forest to hide in.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
for HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES
For people in parts of the Western, North West Coast, Central North, Central Plateau and Midlands Forecast Districts.
Issued at 3:45 pm Sunday, 10 March 2013.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Deloraine, Cressy, Lake St Clair and Cradle Valley.
Thunderstorms at Liawenee produced 23mm of rain in 30 minutes at 1pm and a total of 44mm has now fallen there.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.
The next warning is due to be issued by 6:45 pm.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at http://www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 216. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

CANCELLATION SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
Issued at 5:55 pm Sunday, 10 March 2013.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in Tasmania/Antarctica.
The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.
Thunderstorms at Liawenee produced 23mm of rain in 30 minutes at 1pm. A total of 59mm fell at Liawenee and 26mm at Tods Corner near Great Lake.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
We got totally soaked on the walk back to Wild Dog. I'd never seen the Walls so dry, so the rain was very welcome. And we soon dried out in the trusty Olympus.
. A great long weekend, that ended with a literal bang!
we amuse one another with appalling accents! Try Russian when going up a steep hill, or French when cooking. They work very well ... at least on our small minds
