Murphy's Law would suggest that if you take snowshoes, you won't need them. And if you don't take them, you'll wish you had!

My spies tell me there's a light dusting of snow in most high parts, and certainly on the peaks. And there could be a bit more coming on Sat and Sun, although rain is more likely. So quite honestly, if you're heading off on Mon., it's not looking like snowshoes will be needed, IMHO ... But beware of Murphy Maybe have them in your car (if you're taking one), ask at the visitor centre when you get there, and then decide.

I am heading up that way on Monday too As WNW says there is a light snow forecast over the weekend so they could be needed. Don't forget that the plateau is a fair bit higher than Cradle Valley when looking at the forecast. I have been looking at a combination of Cradle Valley (location), Liawene (highest altitude forecast in Tas) and Mount Read (where the weather comes from). Looking at the forecast later in the weeks suggests Monday and Tuesday will be fairly nice but more light snow might come in at the end of the week!! Yup, whatever your decision it's bound to be the wrong one

My companions have prevailed on me to go into Pelion via the Arm River, so definitely no snow shoes. Thanks for your thoughts.
