Other States November 2011

Vote for and discuss the entries in the regular and ad-hoc photo competitions. Instructions for entering competitions are also here.
Forum rules
Please avoid commenting on individual competition entries before the associated poll has closed, so as to avoid influencing other voters.

TO ENTER THE CURRENT MONTHLY PHOTO COMPETITION, go to the Photo Competition entry page and upload your picture using the entry form there. Each competition is open for entries from the 20th of the month to the 19th of the following month. The rules of each competition are on the same page as the entry form.

The entry form page can also be used to review and/or replace existing entries.

This forum is for competition voting and discussion only - not for submitting entries.

Note that only moderators can create new topics in this forum.

Mount Roland on the mainland looks very similar to our very own Mount Roland?!

Hahaha yes I noticed that.... Seems pointing it out is considered to potentially sway the votes though as i got moderated... :wink:

Still, other states isnt totally clear is it.. other than what?? :P

Yes, after some discussion amongst the moderators (mainly to make sure there wasn't really another Mt Roland on the mainland that looked just like the one in Tasmania), we have marked that entry as ineligible now, and restored your original post.

Still, other states isnt totally clear is it.. other than what?? :P


The rules on the entry page for the "Other States" competitions state that, "The primary subject of the photo should be in Australian states that do not have their own competition..."

Apologies to the person who entered this photo, but we do not have any system in place for checking photos for eligibility before the polls are posted, and sometimes only notice them if other members point them out to us.
