The photo reflects the walk, one of my favourite trips of all time with some ppl whom i regard quite highly, on a mtn with unsurpassed views.

Thank jcr. Pine Valley hut where we were based does have a nice coal heater you know...

When we did the Routeburn 2 years ago (where did that time go), it was the first week in November we had rain, sleet & walking under water falls on the first day & snow on the second, but we were with Ultimate hikes so beautiful "huts" each night - made the world of difference

Huh - I remember a setting almost as snowy as ILUV - taken from the same spot with frozen boots.
But we were there in February and the hut was full. [Probably isn't even the same hut as the one we went to]
So we tented it - near an abandoned tent (no floor - sorry this is going back a bit) which had a rivulet flowing straight through the middle of it.

Your photo brings back fond memories though..
