awesome mists in the last photo, can't help thinking that a pano would've made it even better, like some more out to the left. anyway enjoyed this months batch!

Nick - that last one is certainly a lovely effect, but I haven't seen true mist that thin.
My suspicion from other reports from last month is that the effect may be a smoke haze combined with a temperature inversion trapping it under a certain height.
Or at least a combined smoke/mist layer - nicely lit up by the morning sun.

Gee, tough call this month. Liked the second reflection but a polarizing filter would have made it so much better. Like the concept of the stars at Lake St. Clair, like the Western Arthurs but would maybe have liked a fraction more sky, like the first shot but felt the sky was a bit false......all a bit hard, have to go back and have another look!

Congratulations, Elf Lady! I think this is the first time that anyone has one both of the monthly competitions for the same month. And your first win in any of these competitions, if my (somewhat shonky) memory serves me correctly.

Congratulations Taurë-rana - a very nice shot

I presume this shot is looking along the ridge north from Pokana Peak?

Thanks, it's the first time I've been able to make a decision about which photos to put in, usually it's too hard but I had some help from a friend. Happy to win with the good competition. I might have to put some more in this month.
Yes eggs, it is looking north from Pokana Peak.
