Help! How to download gpx file onto gps?

I'm want to download a hiking route from Map My Hike onto my Garmin GPSmap62s but the route doesn't seem to appear anywhere on my GPS.
(The route is Hannel's Spur by chris schulz 2010)

The download is in GPX format and it appears to download to my iMac okay. From the 'Finder' window I then click and drag the file onto 'My Devices' - 'Garmin'. I did it a second time to my GPS and I get the 'This route already exists' message! Where would I find the route on my GPS? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance...

Are you using Base Camp?

I think you will find this video from the Heysen Trail Friends helpful:

I think the GPSMap62 uses this method. Basecamp is available for Mac and Windows.

The problem could be that the track is on the GPS, but hidden on the map. This is what happens to me with my Garmin Dakota 20.

Try this menu path: Track Manager > Hannels Spur (or whatever you saved it as) > Show On Map

Hopefully this is the same as your GPSmap62s menu.

Thanks guys! Success!!!

Have now downloaded BaseCamp and got everything running. Will be a bit of a learning curve but I have managed to transfer different routes onto my GPSr.
